November 17. 2009 LAPORTE — Two LaPorte County residents have died from H1N1 flu-related complications, LaPorte County health officials have reported.

No other information about the victims was released — including when they died or how old they were — for confidentiality reasons.

"My heart goes out to the families," said Dr. Charles Janovsky, health officer for the LaPorte County Health Department. "It is a sad reality that H1N1 flu, just like any influenza, has the potential to cause severe illness and even death."

The LaPorte County Health Department declined to release additional information, referring all calls to the state.
