ANKARA, 31 July - RIA of news. The Ministry of Pub. Health of Turkey declared, which expects in the autumn-winter period in the country the new epidemic of bird influenza. In the statement of this department, extended on Monday in Ankara, also it is discussed the possibility of the mutation of mortally dangerous virus H5N1 and its transfer from one man to the next.
"During the possible epidemic of bird influenza, which should be expected with the new wave of the migration of migratory birds in the autumn-winter months, virus as a result of mutation can acquire more dangerous forms and be extended from one man to the next", it is noted in the statement.
The head of the Turkish Ministry of Pub. Health Of Redzhep Of Akdag (Recep Akdag) in this connection prescribed to everywhere take the necessary counterepidemic measures and to begin to operate for dealing with the dangerous disease the national system of actions in the crisis situations.
During January of this year in Turkey from the bird influenza passed away four people, the adolescents at the age of 12-15 years.
The epidemic of virus H5N1 envelopped third of territory of the country (27 of 81 province). For dealing with the bird influenza of authority send to the adoption of radical measures, in particular the destruction of livestock of poultry in the regions, where the symptoms of the disease by it of people were noted and virus, was confirmed.
In all were destroyed more than million head of poultry. According to official data, the losses of Turkey from the past epidemic of bird influenza were about $500 million.
