- A series of bacteriological samples taken from patients operated in operating blocks of CHU Mongi Slim allowed to isolate multi resistant bacterium. Standard measures in such cases were immediately taken. As precautionary measure not to jeopardize the safety of patients, the surgical activity was suspended to conduct a comprehensive audit of surgical activities. This audit includes the completion of bacteriological samples in all sectors of the operating room, surgical services and rehabilitation, but also the evaluation of the mode of operation in terms of respect of hospital hygiene rules for all stakeholders in the sectors concerned.
