The COVID-19 outbreak has drastically impacted every sector by breaking the supply chain system of everything around the globe. One such damage has been caused to doses of drugs, as most nations worldwide are witnessing drug shortages, so as in Trinidad and Tobago. The reason behind breakage in the supply chain is the death and illness of employees and lockdowns.

As per the statement released by President of Pharmacy Board Andrew Rahaman said, “with an outbreak in global pandemic since the COVID-19 started, there was a continuous disturbance in supplying of raw materials to manufacturers, further closing down of production units and or not operating at 100%, and then shipment delays in supply.

He further said TT is facing a shortage of methylprednisolone, a steroid that helps in inflammation and is also advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) for treating COVID-19...
