Topeka area man 24th H1N1 death in Kansas

A Topeka area man has died from H1N1 in the state's 24th death from the virus.

The 49-year-old man was confirmed infected November 23. He did have health conditions that put him at greater risk for complications. He was reported dead on December 22.

There are no more free vaccination clinics remaining in Shawnee County for 2009, but to stay up to date on new clinics in the new year, visit kdheks.gov.

Continue proper hygiene steps such as frequent hand washing and covering sneezes. Eat healthy. If feeling flu-like symptoms, contact your health care professional.
