Upcoming: Toolkit for Community-Based Management of AHI in Asia, Study Tours and Training Workshops
The toolkit for Community-Based Management of AHI in Asia aims to strengthen community-based prevention and control of AHI in Asia by highlighting experiences in community-based management of AHI in Asia through the collation of case studies and the identification of key issues ? lessons, challenges, gaps, etc ? that can be derived from these case studies.
The toolkit will provide a snapshot of AHI management at the community level in Asia in 2008 ? a snapshot of projects and activities under way, of guidelines and other resources already available, and of priority areas for the future. The toolkit should encourage practitioners to share their experiences in managing AHI at the community level and provide a vehicle for the voices of communities coping with the risks of AHI to be brought the attention of policy makers and donors.
The toolkit will be available as of June 2008 on the webpage www.adpc.net/communityAHI-Asia/
The AHI-NGO-RC/RC-Asia Partnership is currently planning a series of Study Tours to be conducted in May-June 2008 (tentative timeframe). These Study Tours will involve 8-10 community-level practitioners who will conduct field visits to project sites and participate in workshops in which they may learn from each other and from the agency responsible for the selected project (dates and further details to be announced).
In addition, two Training Workshops will be conduced in May-June 2008 (tentative timeframe), addressing two specific themes in community-based management of AHI in Asia, and each involving 30 community-level practitioners (dates and themes to be announced).
For updates on Study Tours and Training Workshops, please consult the webpage: www.adpc.net/communityAHI-Asia/
