Avian flu: American assistance The Embassy of the United States offered to the Togolese authorities, of the equipment of taking away and decontamination of avian flu. Offered by the Medical department of the durable Office of Development of the Agency of the United States for the international Development (USAID), this material was given to the persons in charge for the ministry for the Breeding and agriculture. They are the Kits made up of a box of decontamination and four boxes of taking away in laboratory. In each box of taking away, one finds masks of respiratory protection, a pair of glasses, a pair of not sterilized disposable gloves, casaque of protection etc? On the whole 40 African countries already received this material on behalf of the United States. Togo worked out in February 2006, a national plan of fight against the avian flu, in particular comprising a national alarm system, the medical staff training and the reinforcement of the monitoring. No case of virus H5N1 is still detected in Togo. Published on February 20, 2007.
