17 positive cases and one Covid-19 death in two days, Togo seems to experience a peak of the disease

In the past two days, the number of positive coronavirus cases has skyrocketed and Togo seems to be experiencing its peak of confirmed cases. Indeed, on May 07 and 08, 2020, seventeen (17) cases were added to the one hundred and twenty-eight (128) already identified and one new death. This brought the total number of cases to 145 and the number of deaths to 10.

Eight (08) new patients recovered, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients to 85.

Coronavirus contaminations continue to increase. Eighteen (18) of the 480 people tested are positive on Tuesday in Togo. At the same time, the country declares 3 other patients cured.

The 18 people whose age is between 15 and 50 are 7 case contacts, namely a woman and 6 men living in Lom? and 11 travelers that are a woman and a man in the district of T?ne, 2 women and 6 men in Blitta district and 1 man in Kpendjal district.

The good news is that 3 new recoveries have been registered, bringing the total number of recovered patients from COVID-19 to 92.

To date, Togo has registered 199 confirmed cases of COVID-19 including 92 cured, 11 deaths and 96 active.

Covid-19 results in Togo: 25 new cases this May 15, 2020

Togo recorded this Friday, May 15, 2020, 25 new confirmed cases of covid-19, for a total of 263 people affected.

Detected after screening a sample of 244 people, the new cases include twelve contacts, four travelers and nine suspects ranging in age from one to 80 years of age.

The same source reports 96 people healed, 156 patients on treatment and eleven deaths, noting that a total of 12,040 laboratory tests have been performed nationwide.

This is against a background of the spread of the pandemic in rural areas with more and more new homes inside the country.

In the past five days, Togo has registered 89 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Wednesday in front of the press, Djibril Mohaman, the national coordinator of the pandemic response unit, revealed that more than 2,800 people were quarantined in several prefectures.

These are "mostly people who have returned from neighboring countries," he said.

“These people are tested every day. This explains the significant increase in recent days in the number of positive cases, "said Djibril Mohaman.

On March 6, Togo announced the first confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a 42-year-old Togolese woman.

She had returned to the country via Benin after successive stays in France, Germany and Turkey between February 22 and March 2.
