MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A second human case of the West Nile Virus has been reported in Shelby County, the Shelby County Health Department said Monday morning.

According to the department, the first case was reported in March and the second case was reported last week.​..

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Shelby County Health Department and Tennessee Department of Health have confirmed yet another case of West Nile virus in the county, marking the third reported case just this week.

This brings the total tally of confirmed cases for 2025 to four, with the first reported in March.

In the latest announcement Thursday, SCHD says this latest case appears to be travel-related, which was the same suspicion for the confirmed illness in March.​..
