Tulsa - Officials say three patients statewide received doses of swine flu vaccine that have been recalled.

The vaccines were recalled last week after French pharmaceutical company Sanofi Pasteur announced that tests indicated the doses may not be potent enough to protect against the virus.

The recall involved about 800-thousand doses that are pre-filled syringes intended for young children, ages six months to almost three years.

Tulsa County Health Department Spokesperson Melanie Christian says one doctor's office in Tulsa County received some of the recalled vaccine and had only given out one dose.

Christian says the parent of that patient has been notified.

CDC (web | news) officials say they don't think children need to be re-vaccinated and that the lots passed potency tests when they were first shipped, but tests indicate the potency decreased after.
