Korba, Sept 21 (PTI) Three persons died of dengue while six others have contracted the disease in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, health officials said today.

Three employees of South Eastern Coalfield Limited (SECL) -- Rajnesh Peter, Anil Vipul Tirkey and Sadhiram -- succumbed to dengue in last 3 days, doctors of Apollo Hospital at Bilaspur said.

Six others from the district were suffering from the disease, they added.

The state health department has been informed about the spread of dengue in the region, Korba Collector Ashok Agarwal said.

Meanwhile, chief medical and health officer, Korba, R P Kumbhkar, said people residing in areas nearby SECL have been asked to take precautions.
