Third Manitoban dies from H1N1 complications

WINNIPEG - A third Manitoban ? a senior who had underlying health conditions ? has died this fall from H1N1, the province announced this afternoon.
The Health Department said the H1N1 virus continues to circulate in the province and people are still becoming seriously ill.
From Dec. 1-7, three more Manitobans with H1N1 were admitted to an intensive care unit.
More than 50 Manitobans with lab-confirmed H1N1 have been admitted to ICUs since the spring. About a third of them had no underlying health conditions.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, meanwhile, says it is wrapping its massive H1N1 flu shot clinics late Saturday afternoon. Afterwards, Winnipeggers will be able to get the flu shot by booking an appointment at smaller community-based clinics.
