There are no drugs, vitamins, vaccines, medicines proven to work against ebola

Please do not believe all the stupid claims in the media.

Nothing is proven to work. There are a lot of experimental drugs being tested but they are not proven. Also - no natural or traditional medicine is proven either. Several vaccines are under development but none are proven effective and it will be YEARS before there is enough production for most of the world's citizens to get a shot.

Your best chance against ebola is PREVENTION.

1) DO NOT TOUCH any body fluids of anyone who is sick or who might be sick. This is a good idea for any disease that anyone around you might have. Sweat, blood, urine, semen, saliva, mucus are body fluids to stay away from.

2) DO NOT HAVE SEX with anyone who is sick. This close contact can transmit many types of illnesses. BE SURE TO HAVE CONDOMS just-in-case you need them. CONDOMS DO NOT PROTECT YOU IN ALL SITUATIONS - but it is better than nothing.

EBOLA HAS BEEN FOUND IN SEMEN UP TO 90 DAYS AFTER A MAN HAS BEEN CURED. DO NOT HAVE SEX FOR AT LEAST 90 DAYS AFTER RECOVERY FROM EBOLA.

3) STAY AT LEAST 4 FEET AWAY FROM A PERSON WITH EBOLA. Ebola is not transmitted through the air BUT if some of their body fluids like saliva or mucus are propelled though the air onto you then you might be in danger.

4) STAY AWAY FROM GROUP GATHERINGS.

5) CLEAN EVERYTHING WITH A BLEACH & WATER SOLUTION. 1 cup of bleach to 9 cups of water. Clean door handles, toilet handles, refrigerator handle, faucets, etc. - even if no one in your home or work is sick. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN anyway - a couple of times a day.

6) WASH YOUR HANDS MANY TIMES A DAY. Your hands touch your mouth, eyes, nose. This is a route for disease into your body. Try to find running water to wash your hands. Soap up your hands and scrub them under the running water while you sing "Happy Birthday". This is how long you need to wash. Be sure to wash finger nails too. Using hand sanitizer is better than nothing.
