The Pig Humor Begins

""These numbers need to be confirmed," said Dr. Richard Wenzel, the immediate past president of the International Society for Infectious Diseases."

Is this guy referencing the number of dead?
Or is he referencing the need to count the number of infected?

Either way, is this absurd or what?

The dead are the dead, right?

The infected are WHO defined. Until WHO includes mild cases, which will be a WHO day in hell-o, there's zero chance of this count transpiring.

Ah, well, it's just random mutation, right?

Barry, too, interviewed today, says it may be 10,000 or 100's of thousands who have been infected.

Here's my guess: As of now (now being immeasurable), I'm guessing there have been 1.74361 million who have been infected with swine flu since April 13, 2009, starting at 6:43:37 am.

Of course, like Barry and everyone else, I have the same solid basis for my projection as do they theirs.

The bottomline is that 7% mortality is on the level of H5N1, and as this is unacceptable to the superduper experts, the number just has to be wrong. Hence, the 1.74361 million infected that I'm asserting, to help them out, to take the focus off of a percentage so high as to be staggering.

As it's easiest to count the dead, let's just focus there. At least we can believe it a high probability that the tests will prove positive.

We can see the true rate of expansion of this disease by assuming the mortality rate to be constant for the next few weeks. So, the dead counts will show us how fast this flu is expanding.

And the best part is we won't need to depend on any talking head.

The most hysterical part about this is that yesterday, the count was 60 dead and 1000 infected, while today, one day later, there are reported 81 dead and 1300 infected.

Old Mortality: An increase of 21/60 in one day... that's a 33% increase of mortality in 1 day.

Young Infectability: An increase of 300/1000 in one day... that's a 30% increase of infected in 1 day.

These two are consistent!! 33% more dead. 30% more infected.

Drumming our fingers, we wait til tomorrow and the next day.
