Excess deaths from Jan - May 2024 are up 6.4 from the pre-pandemic period of 2017-2019. May numbers might still change to the upside as data is accumulating. June numbers are being collected.

It appears January - June, inclusive, is adding up to be 7.0% excess deaths. 2023 was 8% excess deaths.

July and August numbers are still firming up.

Number of deaths reported on this page are the total number of deaths received and coded as of the date of analysis and do not represent all deaths that occurred in that period. Data are incomplete because of the lag in time between when the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more, depending on the jurisdiction and cause of death. United States death counts include the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and New York City. New York state estimates exclude New York City.

Recent improvements in the timeliness of provisional mortality data suggest that the data are at least 94% complete within 8 weeks of when the death occurred, see Technical Notes.

Interesting. This CDC report was published, dated July 2, which measures US deaths in a different way. It is counting them as estimated deaths out of 100k and then calculating that as a rate. This new report says that the US death rate per 100k has reached a record low.

Deaths per 100k estimated is not the same as actual deaths from death certificates compared to previous years.

Interesting because yesterday we were attacked on X by some random medical doctor who does not follow our account. They used foul language against us confusing a cautionary COVID-19 post as an anti vaccine post. Nuts. A professional has never attacked us in our 17 years on X. Either this person is unhinged or can't read. And they have neither apologized or retracted their mistake.

I tweeted post #61 above on June 16th and it has 1000s of re-posts.
