I don?t see a single dust free good roads in our entire state of Manipur which can protect us from several dust pollution diseases.
Until & unless we have good roads we need to protect ourselves from dust and vehicular exhaust while we are away from homes.
It has become a very serious health hazard for all of us specially for school going children, hawkers, women vendors, labours, labourers, lawyers, police, buyers & traffic police etc. who are always on the roads.
According to the doctors & specialists whoever I had spoken to, are of the opinion that such type of dust pollution may lead diseases. And those experts feel if we use breathing mask, it can protect us to some extent.
I had personally spoken to several generous philanthropists to make available "washable Lenin cloth made breathing masks".
I am sure Rotary Club, Lion Club, NGOs, Social Workers & Organisation would kindly consider in public interest.
It has become the need of the hour to make available these masks.
I want to appeal to all concerned personnels to do the needful before it is too late.
Our hospitals are full of patients in spite of good climate, greenery all over.
Apart from road dust the generator smoke all over is a risk factor. I have full confidence that our leaders will do something to protect our people.
Recently I had distributed around 6000 washable breathing masks to road side vendors who are directly exposed to dust & vehicular exhaust.
The economic condition of our people is very weak. To prevent them from now would prevent them a huge medical expense in the future.
Lungs cancer is a killer disease and to protect from it we need the public to be aware of using mask while they are exposed to dust particles.
It is advisable to carry cloth mask like hankies in their protects & use them where ever needed.
I pray to God for good health for all.
My heartfelt gratitude of Col. Vikramjeet, Commandant, 39th Bn. Assan Rifles who has kindly made available thousand of masks in no time. Day & Night their tailors are stitching masks for the distribution to the people of Manipur.
