Santander / Madrid, 7 feb (EFE) .- The increase in influenza activity in most of the country, associated with a greater spread of the virus A (H1N1) (Influenza A), has led to the highest peaks exceed in the 2009-2010 season, although in Cantabria incidence of this disease is average.
According to the latest bulletin System Influenza Surveillance, compiled by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, corresponding to the last week of the year, continuing the ascent phase of the pandemic wave, with an overall incidence rate of 153 cases per 100,000.
By region, the incidence of influenza is high in Galicia, Asturias, Basque Country and La Rioja.
Along with Cantabria, Navarra, Catalu?a, Comunidad Valenciana, Baleares, Castilla y Le?n, Madrid, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha and the Canary Islands, the incidence is average, while low in Aragon, Andalusia and Murcia, as well as in cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
For the first time reached the threshold values above baseline in the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha and Valencia.
All children under 15 years are most affected, but this week highlights the significant increase in groups of 15 to 64 years and over 64 years.

The 85.1 percent of severe cases in hospital were for infections of influenza virus A.
