The flu epidemic has erupted in Catalunya, a particularly virulent among the smaller, 52 percent of cases of type A / H1N1, according to information detailing the plan of Acute Respiratory Infections Catalunya (Pidirac), collected by Europa Press.
The network of sentinel physicians detected 189 cases per 100,000 people, mostly respiratory, when the epidemic threshold is at 100 episodes of influenza.
As usual, the smallest monopolize most of the cases (58%), while the influenza A/H1N1 virus, which emerged last season, has cornered half the flu episodes in the population.
During the last week studied, 19 to December 25 have been reported 87 new patients admitted with confirmed cases of infection with influenza virus, and since October have been reported 177 cases confirmed severe, showing 59 percent of them any previous risk factor.
It so happens that two of the influenza A isolated patients with severe symptoms were vaccinated, one has 1 year and the other 40. The morbidity indicators showed that influenza activity is at a moderate level of activity "with a growing tendency", with a diffusion pattern comparable to that of previous seasons in epidemic activity.
