The so-called swine flu has claimed the first death in Luxembourg.

(jot) - The Health Ministry announced on Thursday afternoon after the first death of an influenza A/H1N1-Infektion. There is a 55-year-old man who was treated for several chronic diseases in a hospital. The patient died on Thursday morning.

In Luxembourg, had until 9 September 189 cases of swine flu has been detected. All infections were previously run without major complications. Especially young people, according to Health Minister Mars di Bartolomeo affected by the swine flu, not a single person over 60 years from Luxembourg would have been infected with the H1N1 virus.

(jot) - Das Gesundheitsministerium hat am Donnerstagnachmittag den ersten Todesfall nach einer Influenza A/H1N1-Infektion bekanntgegeben. Es handelt sich um einen 55-jährigen Mann, der wegen mehrerer chronischer Krankheiten in einer Klinik behandelt wurde. Der Patient starb am Donnerstagvormittag.

Weitere Einzelheiten teilte das Gesundheitsministerium in ihrer Pressemeldung nicht mit.

In Luxemburg waren bis zum 9. September 189 Fälle der Schweinegrippe festgestellt worden. Alle Infektionen waren bis dahin ohne größere Komplikationen verlaufen. Besonders Jugendliche sind Gesundheitsminister Mars di Bartolomeo zufolge von der Schweinegrippe betroffen, keine einzige Person über 60 Jahre aus Luxemburg hätte sich bisher mit dem H1N1-Virus angesteckt.
