Summary:
This year's flu epidemic in Europe subsides very slowly, but
number of states with decreasing morbidity increased again - drop reported for 10 networks.
CR: the 8th calendar week in the Czech Republic in 2013 was a further slight decline in incidence
acute respiratory infections, including influenza (ARI), a 6% decrease is again recorded
in all age groups. Overall ARI morbidity in the Czech Republic reaches
1460 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Decrease morbidity is also investigated for flu
like illness (ILI), by 19.2%. The situation can be assessed as slowly
retreating flu epidemic, now they have a regional character, especially
in North Bohemia and Moravia, where the epidemic started later.

The overall proportion of influenza-positive cases in Europe still remains high (54%),
however downward trend is evident. The proportion of influenza A and B, on a European scale is
almost equal, the subtypes prevalent subtype slightly AH1N1
pdm.
Were tested 664 influenza strains to antiviral resistance: 4 isolates
subtype showed A/H1 H275 amino acid substitution. Two of these isolates
were from immunodeficient patients treated, the other two from untreated patients
antiviral. It is recorded one A/H3 resistant and one B strain resistant.
For strains sent to the Embassy of NRL Hospital in Ostrava and Pilsen have carried out the first
identification: 14 isolates from Ostrava was included in the B line Yamagata. Identification
Pilsen isolates begin this week, because unfortunately erythrocyte binding stability at
recent H1 and H3 subtypes are highly variable and tribes had to be repeatedly
pas??ovat.
Summary:
Europe is characterized by a receding epidemic, although a number of states (19 total) reports
even surface appearance. The rise of morbidity is already registered in Finland.
Czech Republic:
In the 10th calendar week in 2013 in the Czech Republic has been a further decline in the occurrence of acute
respiratory infections, including influenza (ARI), and by 2%. Decrease morbidity
recorded in all age groups except for persons over 60 years, where
seeing a slight increase - 0.9%. Overall ARI morbidity in the Czech Republic
reaches 1298 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Pronounced decline
morbidity in the group investigated flu-like illness (ILI), by
21.8%. Currently it is a regional occurrences of influenza,
especially in the western part of Bohemia, in northeastern Bohemia and Moravia,
where the epidemic started later. Influenza continues to occur in other parts of
Republic, but it is mostly a local outbreak. The Czech Republic currently dominates
rather influenza type B.
Number of registered cases of severe course of influenza continue to gradually
decreases. As of 8th Third 2013 was in the Czech Republic reported a total of 496 serious cases
influenza, of which 110 people died.

Czech Republic:
In the 11th calendar week of 2013, the situation in the Czech Republic in the incidence of acute respiratory
including influenza infections (ARI) has not changed significantly - it recorded a slight decrease
number of patients by 1.3%. Overall ARI morbidity in the Czech Republic reaches 1281
cases per 100,000 population. In the group of influenza-like illness (ILI) is
ascertained significant decrease morbidity, by 18.9%.

Diseases was mainly caused by an influenza virus and (H1N1) and in the most of the patients (88 %) was in history The any of the risk factors.
"The most frequently as risk factor showed such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes or onkologick? disease," says the main hygiene Czech Republic Vladim?r Valenta.
