BANGKOK, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Thailand reported 50 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total to 2,473 with one more fatality.

"The new COVID-19 death is a 43-year-old woman with pre-existing condition of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus," said Thaweesin Wissanuyothin, spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

Thailand reported 28 new coronavirus infections on Monday, for a total of 2,579 cases, a health official said. There were 2 more deaths, taking the nation's toll to 40.

A milestone in Sunday statistics was the cumulative number of recovered patients (1,288) exceeded the number of those remaining in hospital (1,251) for the first time, according to the data at the Public Health Ministry’s Covid-19 website.

One of the deaths on Sunday was a 56-year-old Thai man with a history of contact with existing patients. The other was a 43-year-old man with diabetes, chronic kidney failure and high blood pressure.

Of the 28 new cases reported on Monday, 18 had been in contact with existing patients or were linked to places where they had been, including two Thai nationals in Phuket.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand reports 33 new coronavirus infections, bringing the nation’s total to 2,733 cases, a senior official said on Saturday.

Eleven of the new cases were in Bangkok and had a history of going to public areas, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.

No new deaths were reported and 1,787 people have recovered, he said.

Thailand has reported 47 fatalities since the outbreak escalated in January.

The new fatality reported on Wednesday was a 58-year-old Thai woman who had diabetes and high-blood pressure as underlying diseases, said Taweesin.

Thailand has a total of 2,826 confirmed cases and 49 deaths.
