1. The situation on 4 March 2020 at 8.00 a.m.

1. There are currently 11 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) being
treated in hospitals, 31 cases who returned to their homes and 1 death, which brings the total number
of coronavirus infection cases detected in Thailand to 43.

2. From 3 January to 4 March 2020 at 11.00 A.M., the total number of patients under
investigation (PUI) increased to 3,680 people. Of those, 104 PUI were detected from screening at all
ports of entry and 3,576 people sought medical services on their own at hospitals. 2,135 cases
returned to their homes and some of them are being continually monitored. Most of the PUI were
infected with seasonal influenza, and 1,545 PUI are still admitted at hospitals.

3. Regarding the international situation involving 73 countries and two administrative regions
between 5 January to 4 March 2020 at 7.00 A.M., there were 92,321 confirmed cases and 3,137
deaths, with 80,152 cases and 2,945 deaths coming from the People's Republic of China.

The Public Health Ministry on Thursday reported four new local coronavirus disease cases - men aged 20-42 years who arrived from Iran and Italy in the past week.

It was also announced that healthy people returning from Covid-19 risk countries would now be quarantined at specific and guarded facilities...

...The new cases raise the number of local Covid-19 cases to 47. Of these, 31 have recovered and returned home, 15 remained at hospitals and one died...

1. There are currently 15 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) being
treated in hospitals, 31 cases who returned to their homes and 1 death, which brings the total number
of coronavirus infection cases detected in Thailand to 47.

2. From 3 January to 5 March 2020 at 11.00 A.M., the total number of patients under
investigation (PUI) increased to 3,895 people. Of those, 128 PUI were detected from screening at all
ports of entry and 3,767 people sought medical services on their own at hospitals. 2,319 cases
returned to their homes and some of them are being continually monitored. Most of the PUI were
infected with seasonal influenza, and 1,576 PUI are still admitted at hospitals.

3. Regarding the international situation involving 80 countries, two administrative regions and
one cruise ship between 5 January to 5 March 2020 at 7.00 A.M., there were 94,380 confirmed cases
and 3,221 deaths, with 80,282 cases and 2,981 deaths coming from the People's Republic of China.

2. MOPH reported 4 additional imported cases of COVID-19 from Italy and Iran.
The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) reported 4 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Two
cases were from people traveling from Italy and two were from Iran. The public was asked to be aware
and to not panic. The situation can improve by cooperation from every sector and individuals honoring
their social responsibility.
Dr. Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, Director General of the Department of Disease
Control and his team stated that today, Thailand has 4 more confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease
2019 (COVID-19). The first case, a 29 year-old Italian man who departed from Italy on 1 March 2020,
sought medical treatment at a private hospital on 2 March 2020 with symptoms of fever and cough.
He was referred to Chonburi Hospital. The second case is a 42 year-old male Thai officer who
returned from Italy on 2 March 2020. He visited a private hospital for medical treatment in Chonburi
province on 3 March 2029 with symptoms of fever, cough and sore throat. Those two cases are not
related.
The third case is a 22 year-old Chinese man, a student who traveled from Iran to transit in
Thailand on 1 March 2020. The officer at the international communicable diseases control checkpoint
of Suvarnabhumi Airport checked and found this man had a fever, cough and a runny nose. The
student was admitted to Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute. The fourth case is a 20 yearold Thai man, a student who traveled from Iran to Thailand on 27 February 2020 and was admitted at
a hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat province on 2 March 2020 with a fever and a runny nose.
As of today, 31 cases have recovered, while 15 others remain at hospitals, and there has been
one death. The total number of confirmed cases is 47. One severe case is being treated at
Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute. He has tested negative for the virus causing COVID-19
and is under close supervision of the medical team.

Bangkok (VNA) – The number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand rose to 50 after the country confirmed two more cases on March 7.

Both patients are Thai men in the age of 40 who returned from Italy.

Local media quoted Permanent Secretary at the Thai Ministry of Public Health Sukhum Kanchanapimai as saying the first patient had symptoms on March 5 and is receiving treatment at Rajavithi Hospital while the second is getting treatment at Nopparatrajathanee Hospital.

The two additions bring to the number of people being treated in medical facilities to 18, he said, adding that 31 have recovered and there has been one death...

1. The situation on 9 March 2020 at 8.00 a.m.
1. There are currently 16 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) being
treated in hospitals, 33 cases who returned to their homes and one death, which brings the total
number of coronavirus infection cases detected in Thailand to 50.
2. From 3 January to 9 March 2020, the total number of patients under investigation (PUI)
increased to 4,518 people. Of those, 212 PUI were detected from screening at all ports of entry
and 4,306 people sought medical services on their own at hospitals, 2,729 cases returned to their
homes and some of them are being continually monitored. Most of the PUI were infected with
seasonal influenza, and 1,789 PUI are still admitted at hospitals.
3. Regarding the international situation involving 102 countries, two administrative regions
and one cruise ship between 5 January to 9 March 2020 at 7.00 A.M., there were 107,862
confirmed cases and 3,664 deaths, with 80,703 cases and 3,098 deaths coming from the People's
Republic of China.
2. MOPH emphasized that care of the undocumented Thai workers abroad is a display of
cooperation from all sectors; 186 people were screened and there were no signs of fever.
The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) emphasized that taking care of undocumented Thai

Sattahip Naval Base. Currently, none of them have a fever but they are under observation.
Dr. Tanarak Plipat, Deputy Director General and his team stated about the COVID-19
situation today, that 16 COVID-19 confirmed cases still remain in the hospital, 33 cases have been
discharged from the hospital and there has been one death. The total number of COVID-19 cases
in Thailand is 50. There have been no additional confirmed cases. One severe case still remains
at the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, and laboratory results for the virus are now
negative, but the patient is still under close observation.
There are 186 undocumented Thai workers from South Korea who were sent to the naval
facility in Sattahip for quarantine - 88 men and 98 women. Of these, 18 people are in need of
special care (pregnant women, children and patients with chronic illness) and 8 are among highrisk groups who have travel history to Daegu and/or North Gyeongsang province. All of them have
gone through health checks and nobody had a fever. The Ministry of Public Health and the Royal
Thai Navy have established health care centers providing temperature and symptom checks every
day. The Office of Disease Prevention and Control, Region 6 has cooperated in this action. Staff
are available 24 hours at the facility.

The Public Health Ministry on Tuesday announced three new local cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection - two them Thais in contact with people returning from Italy.

Dr Yongyos Thammawut, deputy permanent secretary for health, said one was a 41-year-old woman who had not travelled abroad but was in close contact with a previously recorded Covid-19 patient, a man who returned from Italy.

She developed a fever on Saturday, was examined and then registered as the 51st local case. She was being treated at Rajavithi Hospital in Bangkok.

The 52nd and 53rd cases are a couple. The wife, 46, returned from Italy to Thailand on Feb 28 and later did not feel well. Her husband, 47, did not go abroad and fell sick on Saturday with a high fever and body ache.

The man went to a hospital first and tested positive for the disease. His wife was then tested. Both had been in voluntary home quarantine. They were now receiving treatment at a hospital in Nakhon Pathom province...

BANGKOK (Reuters): Thai officials played down the possibility of a 'super spreading' of the coronavirus on Thursday (March 12) as they reported that a group of friends were responsible for the biggest daily rise in the country's cases since the outbreak began.

Officials reported 11 new cases, taking the national tally to 70. One person has died.

The new patients are a group of friends who appeared to pass the virus to each other after one of their number was first infected by a tourist who has since returned to Hong Kong, officials said.

The male and female friends, all Thai nationals aged in their 20s and 30s, socialised and shared drinks and cigarettes on two occasions in late February...

BANGKOK: Thailand on Sunday (March 15) saw the biggest daily jump in Covid-19 case, with 32 reported, bringing the total number to 114.

Among the 32 cases, nine involved visiting a boxing stadium in Bangkok, three had contacts with tourists in a restaurant at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and one was a civil servant who was infected while on duty in Spain, said Dr. Suhum Kanchanapimai, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Public Health.

Thailand also said it will classify all travelers into three groups under intensified surveillance for the new coronavirus as officials try to prevent a wider outbreak in the tourism-reliant nation...

The total number of infections in Thailand is now 147 people. 36 patients have recovered, 108 are still in hospital and one person has died...

Several fans of Muay Thai came to the indoor Lumpini Stadium in Thailand to attend a match on March 6 which has been speculated as a reason for the increasing number of cases in the country. More than 100 went home after the match with the possible virus in their system.

So far reports said that there are 104 cases of the Covid-19 which were confirmed after the match. The virus has been spotted in an actor, a major-general, a politician, a boxing trainer and several fans who attended the event...

Covid-19 cases in Thailand rocket to 600

Thailand’s confirmed Covid-19 cases rose by a third to nearly 600, the kingdom announced, as fears of a full-blown crisis take hold in a country largely spared until now.

Thailand’s health ministry announced the spike was mainly in the capital, but warned residents of Bangkok not to leave and risk spreading the virus around the country.

“We would like you to stay home. Do not travel upcountry, ” said a health ministry official.

South-East Asia has so far been spared the worst of the pandemic that has swept the world, confining nearly one billion to their homes and killing more than 13,000.

But that could be about to change...
