BANGKOK, July 3 (Bernama) -- Public health officials in Pranburi district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province are now on high alert to contain outbreaks of the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) among children, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Bangkok residents have been cautioned against the spread of hand, foot and mouth disease among young children, with up to 11,000 people nationwide contracting the disease from January to June.

BANGKOK, 22 August 2013 Public Health Minister Pradit Sintavanarong has expressed his worries over the hand, foot, and mouth disease situation in Thailand as over 27,000 cases have been found this year.

Minister Pradit said he was concerned about children?s health as the statistics, collected from January 1st to August 19th, shows that there were 27,400 hand, foot, and mouth infections during the period, which accounted for nearly 43 of every 100,000 people, adding that the disease has already claimed one life...
