DSHS is reporting 2,982 cases of H1N1 flu in Texas, including 2,981 in Texas residents from 95 of the state's 254 counties. (Due to reporting schedules, DSHS case counts usually will be higher and more current than those on the CDC Web site.)
Deaths. There have been 13 people with H1N1 who have died in Texas. Two women and a man in Bexar County died in June. A boy and a woman from Hidalgo County, a man in El Paso County and a woman from Victoria County died in early June. A man and a woman in El Paso County and a girl from Fort Bend County died in late May. A Cameron County woman and a Nueces County man died in early May, and a young boy from Mexico City died in a Houston-area hospital in April.
