DALLAS –– Dallas County epidemiologists have notified health providers that a man who had no recent history of international travel was recently diagnosed with the measles.


The 49-year old resident is recovering following hospitalization...

...The source of the adult’s infection is unknown. Health officials say the patient may have exposed people in the emergency department and on an airplane flight. Those people are being identified and notified.

Collin County has recently had two pediatric measles cases.
It does not appear the cases are connected...

...Health authorities have determined that people who visited Bonzai Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar, 1802 South Clack St., Abilene, between June 23 and 28 may have been exposed to measles.

People who have symptoms or think they may have been exposed to measles and are unvaccinated should contact their healthcare provider immediately.
Immune globulin given up to six days after exposure may prevent disease among unvaccinated people. Let the doctor?s office or hospital know about a possible measles exposure or measles symptoms before entering the facility...

(KETK) ? The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is attempting to track down more than 30 Texans who may have been exposed to measles in Wichita, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Communication Director Sara Belfry, eight softball teams participated in a loosely organized event over the July 4 weekend. The squads hailed from Missouri, Nebraska, Texas and Kansas--- at least three teams were from Texas.

Belfry said the games were put together via Facebook and played at the South Lakes Sports Complex.

The Texas DSHS has not yet identified where the teams originated and has not yet identified any cases of measles in the state associated with the event. Officials urge anyone in Texas who attended the event to call the department (512-776-7676) to report the potential exposure...

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) ? A Texan has been diagnosed with measles after attending a softball tournament in Kansas where health officials later warned of possible exposure to the virus.

Tarrant County Public Health officials in Fort Worth on Wednesday announced a resident tested positive for measles after traveling outside Texas...
