Ex-corporator died of haemorrhagic fever

The test reports on the death of 52-year-old former corporator Raju from Jalahalli, which was earlier attributed to dengue, has returned negative.
According to doctors, Raju suffered Viral Hemorrhagic Fever when he was admitted at Suguna Hospital on August 16 and died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday.
Dr Ranganath, the hospital?s CEO, said, ?We took the patient?s IGG and IGM tests for dengue on the same day that he was admitted. The test, however, came negative.? He added that the patient was initially admitted at Marathi Nursing Home in Seshadripuram, where Raju was being treated by a physician. However, his condition deteriorated and the hospital referred him to a bigger hospital as they doubted he had dengue.
Blood platelet count
After visiting M S Ramaiah Hospital and Columbia Asia Hospital, Raju was finally admitted to Suguna Hospital. ?When he came to our hospital, his blood platelet count had dropped to 10,000 (ideally, the blood palette count should be between 1.5 and 2.5 lakh). We informed the patient?s family and put him on ventilator,? Dr Ranganath said.
However, the following day, Raju got multiple epileptic attack followed by kidney failure, said the doctor. He was then given emergency dialysis.
?VHF causes multi-organ dysfunction. The patient died of cardiac arrest at 2.40 pm on Wednesday,? he revealed. Apparently, Raju had a history of diabetes.
