Nursing students sick; hostel food suspected

MADURAI: Ninety-six nursing students of the Madurai Medical College have been hospitalised after reporting vomiting and diarrhea. More than 60 students were admitted to the government hospital on Friday night and the remaining got sick on Saturday, allegedly due to food poisoning in the hostel mess.

5 more nurses fall ill

MADURAI: Five more nursing students have been admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) here on Sunday with the complaints of vomiting and diarrhoea.
With this, the number of nursing students admitted to the GRH has increased nine in the last two days.
The four nurses, who were admitted on Saturday, were discharged. The condition of the other students was normal. ?We are providing best possible treatment to them,? said a senior doctor at the hospital. Earlier this month, more than 100 nursing students were admitted to the hospital with the complaints of diarrhoea and vomiting.
