[h=1]Swine Flu claims 2 more lives in Madurai, death toll touches 15[/h] Madurai: The menace of Swine Flu is gaining momentum in south India as two more people have lost their lives in Madurai's state-run Rajaji Hospital in the last two days, taking the total death toll to 15. The state government is trying to get the situation under control but sporadic cases are being reported from around the region.
The deceased, 28-year-ld Sulthana Begum was a resident of Sanarpatti in Dindigul. She was admitted to the government hospital in Dindigul first and was later shifted to government-run Rajaji Hospital on Saturday after symptoms of Swine Flu.

However, she died in the early hours of Monday while undergoing treatment at the H1N1 quarantine ward. Earlier, 50-year-old Kumaresan from Alagapuri in Dindigul district also succumbed to the disease at the same hospital a few days ago. The patient was under treatment but could not pull through the ailment, breathing his last on Saturday.
The Tamil Nadu health department sources said that so far, 27 of the Swine Flu have been reported in the state while 13 deaths have occurred due to dengue. In total, 3,440 people have been affected by dengue and 1,745 by Swine Flu.

[h=1]3 die in Coimbatore with swine flu symptoms[/h] COIMBATORE: Three patients admitted to the hospitals with H1N1 flu symptoms died on Saturday.
According to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital officials, Velayutham (65), of Bharathi Nagar in Podanur, was admitted to CMCH on November 11 with fever. After H1N1 flu was confirmed, he was shifted to a special ward and treated. However, he succumbed on Sunday.

Palanisamy (61), of Anna Nagar near Neelambur, was admitted on November 30. He too was moved to special ward as tests confirmed H1N1 flu. However, he died on Saturday. Two persons, including a woman, died of H1N1 (swine flu) in the government hospital here, hospital officials said Tuesday.
With this, the toll due to the flu at the hospital has risen to 23 in the last two months, they said.

A 65-year-old man was suffering from fever and undergoing treatment at a private hospital near Tirupur, some 40 km from here.
As the fever persisted, he was admitted to the government hospital, where he was diagnosed with swine flu symptoms, officials said.
However, he died this morning, they said.
Similarly, a woman, a resident of Sulur on the outskirts, who was undergoing treatment for H1N1 for the last two days, succumbed late last night, the sources said.
The hospital is at present treating 23 people for swine flu, four for dengue and 63 for different types of viral fever, the sources added.

[h=1]H1N1 claims one more life in Trichy[/h] TRICHY: A 34-year-old man, who was tested positive for infection, died in a private hospital here on Wednesday morning.
This is the second death due to H1N1 in district in less than a week. At least six deaths have been reported here since October.
The deceased has been identified as M Saravanan, hailing from a village near Lalgudi.
Saravanan fell ill around 15 days ago. He was immediately admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital () here where he was tested positive for H1N1.
Later, he was shifted to a private hospital where he died on Wednesday.
Sources in the health department said Saravanan had other respiratory complications, which led to the condition turning fatal.

Trichy: Two deaths in three days due to H1N1 infection

TRICHY: Two people, who were tested positive for H1N1 infection, died in Trichy over the course of last three days. The deceased were identified as Amudha, 38, who hailed from Aranthangi in Pudukottai district and Rangarajan, 68, from near Thuraiyur in Trichy district.
