Tamiflu, yes or no?

Ok -

If I can get some tamiflu, do I buy it? How about the "adines"? And how much? Do I buy anything else to boost the affects of these?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Tamiflu, yes or no?

All medical statements are done for discussion purpose only. All medication should be validated by your Health Care Professionnals.
Carefullness is a must.

About 1 1/2 years ago rose the question on how could we get the highest presence in our system of the anti-virals (tamiflu) and of antibiotics for deep lungs bacterial infections (Erythromycin).

Many professionnals suggest that if you could slow the renal process on an healthy kidney you could contemplate the use of Benuryl 500mg.

On an healthy kidney it would keep present in the blood the amount of anti-virals or anti-biotics longer and therefore reduce the replication process.

But as I have said these options MUST be consider with a professional aware of your specific condition, it could be dangerous if done without proper professionnal supervision.

Re: Tamiflu, yes or no?

Definitely not a MD so take as lay advice.

I would buy both and take them together as a combination therapy in an attempt to overcome any resistance in the strain encountered.

Re: Tamiflu, yes or no?

Probenecid (500 mg) 4 times daily will slowdown Tamiflu excretion, making Tamiflu last twice as long. I am not a medical person either. To the best of my knowledge, there are two dosage plans for adults.

If you have AI, the 2 tablets daily for 7 to 10 days would be prescribed. If you supplemented the Tamiflu with Probenecid, you could reduce the Tamiflu dose to 1 per day.

If you are caring for a person with AI or have been exposed, but are without symptoms, the dose is 1 tablet per day for 7 to 10 days. With Probenicid, the dose could be reduced to 1 tablet every other day.

In Egypt, where the Tamiflu resistant strains recently emerged, the physicians supplemented the Tamiflu administration with Amantadine. I believe, but am not sure, that the dose is 4 tablets per day. I do not know is the Probenecid affects this drug.

An antibiotic, to inhibit the development of bacterial pneumonia, is also commonly administered. I do not know what antibiotics are recommended for bacterial pneumonia.

Re: Tamiflu, yes or no?

To our readers, please be patient, some professional will come and post precisely about the above observations.

You have many things to consider, like the state of being of your liver and the neurological side effect of tamiflu among other things.

These are somehow powerfull medications, therefore before taking any stands, one must have the patience and the willingness to consult or have professional advices.

The above post are observations of people who have read plenty on the matters but this is only food for reflection not a program for treatment.

Some qualify people will come oin this thread, let's be patient.

(anyway with professional you are ''patient'' lol
