XALAPA, Veracruz (El Universal) .- The governor, Fidel Herrera Beltran, denied the mayor of Chinampa Gorostiza, Belisario Betancourt Santos, died of human influenza and claimed that the statements of officials of Tamaulipas in this regard have political overtones.
He demanded to stop making "political carrion" with the death of the mayor, who was morbidly obese and overtook him two strokes which caused his death in a hospital in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
"I need not go speculating on the death of a person or make 'political carrion' a question of that nature," he said.
The epidemiologist Tamaulipas Secretariat of Health, Alfredo Rodr?guez Trujillo, said the mayor died in Veracruz, Tampico a private hospital as a result of human influenza.
"Veracruz is a man of 46 years who died in a private hospital in the city of Tampico, in the hospital Germain, and the result is confirmed with H1N1 influenza, like the person in Matamoros," he said.
In this regard, Herrera Beltr?n regretted that such information be disseminated when Betancourt Santos had severe obesity problems that earned him further complications.
"The issue I've seen I do not know what political interest (spread the information) and do not want to pull it apart because there are several other issues that will vent at the time, of other nature."
He recalled that he attended the wake and no one had "not even a catarrito.
"There I was, certainly at a wake where many people were made redundant, nobody was even cold and his Trustee, his wife, his brothers narrated that I moved to Tampico very high pressure because he had overtaken him two strokes massive he had died, so her death certificate says. "
