Taipei, Oct. 30 (CNA) Taichung in central Taiwan reported 12 new cases of indigenous dengue fever last week, bringing the total number in the municipality so far this year to 101, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed Tuesday.

The patients are between the ages of 10 and 80, among whom seven were from the city's Taiping District, two in Beitun, with one each in Dali, Wufeng and Xitun, according to the CDC...

Taipei, Nov. 14 (CNA) Kaohsiung has reported a case of indigenous dengue fever, making it the first dengue virus type 4 (DENV-4) the southern city has reported this year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Wednesday.

The patient, a man in his 70s living in the city's Chienjin District, sought treatment Monday after feeling unwell and coming down with a fever and sore throat the day before...

...The number of indigenous dengue fever cases around Taiwan has hit 176 this year -- 107 in Taichung, 43 in New Taipei, 12 in Kaohsiung, eight in Changhua County, two each in Taipei and Chiayi County, and one each in Taoyuan and Tainan, according to CDC data.

Taiwan sees spike in imported dengue fever cases from Cambodia: CDC

Taipei, Dec. 21 (CNA) The number of imported dengue fever cases in Taiwan that originated in Cambodia has increased sharply this year to 66 compared with eight in 2017, a senior official at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Friday.

Cambodia has also been the largest source of imported dengue fever cases in Taiwan this year, said CDC Deputy Director-General Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥).

Citing CDC data valid as of Dec. 20, Chuang said the total number of imported dengue fever cases in Taiwan this year was 330, with the three major sources being Cambodia (66), Vietnam (62) and the Philippines (56).

Last year the number of cases that originated in Vietnam was 104 and in the Philippines 39, Chuang said...

Three dengue fever cases involving two Taiwanese businessmen who had recently visited Vietnam and a Filipino migrant worker who had returned home during a holiday have been confirmed in Tainan, southwestern Taiwan.

They bring to 25 the total number of cases of the disease being imported to the city in 2018...
