T-Rex Takes on Shaky Christchurch

Monday, 04 February 2013 16:32

T-Rex, a massive, 64,000-pound shaker truck, is on its way to New Zealand to help earthquake engineers grapple with a seismic challenge following a series of destructive earthquakes that shook its second largest city, Christchurch, in 2011.

Since then, as many as 7,500 homes have been abandoned due to earthquake damage, and 30 percent of the structures in its central business district, including more than 20 buildings 15 stories and higher have been demolished...

The T-Rex had just been researching the bizarre mining disaster in Bayou Corne, LA, but had to terminate operations in the area as it became more unstable.
