Parents on alert over meningococcal outbreak

HEALTH experts warned parents to be aware of a meningococcal outbreak after two children were diagnosed with the disease yesterday.
Two Sydney children have been confirmed as having the virus and are recovering in hospital.
Doctors confirmed that the two cases were not linked but said parents needed to be alert and "trust their instincts" if their children didn't look 100 per cent...
...Both girls, an 11-month-old girl from western Sydney and a six-year-old girl from southwestern Sydney were being cared for at Westmead Children's Hospital yesterday. The girls were in a stable condition and are expected to make a full recovery.
