As the authorities get ready for the second wave of the H1N1 pandemic to strike, Newsline takes a look how the Capital has fared so far.



* Total swine flu cases so far — 9584
* Deaths — 89
* Cases reported on Thursday — 4
* Number of children testing positive — 5334

* The 3 government testing centres are Patel Chest Institute, National Institute Communicable Diseases and AIIMS while 4 private path labs have been certified to perform H1N1 tests.

* 11 Delhi government hospitals have been designated for H1N1 patients in the city. Five private hospitals have been certified.

* Across government and private hospitals, there are there 220 beds and 88 ventilators earmarked for treatment of swine flu patients.



* Apollo Hospitals — 8 beds
* Sir Gangaram Hospital — 10 beds
* Safdarjung Hospital — 18 beds
* RML Hospital — 30 in isolation ward and 5 in ICU
* Malviya Hospital — 10 beds
* Lok Nayak Hospital — 8 beds



Given the increasing numbers of cases, the state government has placed an ‘urgent’ order for the procurement of 30 more ventilators
