Swine Flu Death Toll rises to 11 in India with the death of Kerala Man
Thiruvananthapuram: A 33-year-old man from Kerala became the 11th Swine Flu victim in India. He succumbed to the A H1N1 virus tonight after being hospitalised for six days. The victim, Mr. Wilson, who had returned from the Gulf, was tested positive for Swine Flu a few days ago. This is the first-ever Swine Flu death in Kerala. So, far Pune has reported five Swine Flu deaths, while Mumbai has reported two. Ahmedabad, Chennai, Vadodara and Kerala reported one death each.
According to reports, Wilson was treated for Swine Flu, even as his test results were awaited. He had recently visited Tamil Nadu after returning from the Gulf.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 11 (PTI) In the first case of death due to swine flu in Kerala, a 35-year-old man succumbed to the disease at a private hospital here tonight.
The victim, Wilson Lukose, was admitted to the hospital six days ago with high fever and other symptoms of swine flu.
As his condition worsened, he was put on ventilator the next day, doctors who treated him, said.
Lukose, who was working as a driver in the Gulf, died of an acute attack of pneumonia, the doctors said.
Recently, he had visited Andaman Nicobar islands and returned to Kerala via Chennai a week ago.
Health department said this was the first H1N1 death in Kerala and added that the victim had contracted the disease from outside the state.
A total of 55 swine flu cases had so far been reported in the state and most of them had recovered, they said.
