ALGIERS- Four new people have died from swine flu, bringing to 36 the number of deaths out of 567 confirmed cases in Algeria, according to a report on the local epidemiological situation of A/H1N1 influenza released Monday by the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform.

The four new deaths include two women (29 and 24 years old), a 9-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man. The 29-year-old pregnant woman (6 months) from Thenia (Boumerdes) was hospitalized in Bordj Menael for a minor respiratory syndrome only to be evacuated to the university hospital of Tizi-Ouzou, where she had an emergency caesarean and gave birth to two stillborns, it was pointed out.
The 9 year-old girl from Oran, hospitalized for an acute respiratory distress syndrome, died from multiple organ failures, the source added, noting that the patient was followed from birth for motor impairment and cerebral palsy.
The 27-year-old man from Sidi Amrane, hospitalized in Ouargla for an acute respiratory distress syndrome, was treated for heart failure, while the 24-year-old woman from Hal Chorfa (Ouargla) was also hospitalized for an acute respiratory distress syndrome, the source added.

Two new deaths relating to A/H1N1 flu have been recorded in Algeria, which brings the total deadly cases to 38 among 607 affected people, according to a new toll on the epidemiological situation of the disease announced by the ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform.

The two cases concern a 34-old-year woman, who was suffering from a chronic heart disease, and a man aged 60, affected with bronchopneumopathy, a health official said at a ministry's briefing on the epidemiological situation of the A/H1N1 virus in Algeria.

A new death from swine flu has been reported in Algeria, bringing the number of deadly cases to 39 and that of affected people to 633, according to a report on the epidemiological situation of A/H1N1 influenza released Thursday by the ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform.
The new deadly case concerns a 23-year-old woman residing in Arzew, hospitalized in a comatose state preceded by a flu syndrome.
Until December 3, the number of confirmed swine influenza cases concerned only those who went to a reference hospital department with a flu syndrome, or those who were sent to hospital following a health control at the borders or by the network monitoring the disease, the ministry added.

Algeria- Five new deaths relating to swine flu (A/H1N1) have been recorded in Algeria, bringing the total number of deadly cases to 47 among 746 affected people, the ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform disclosed Thursday in a report on the epidemiological situation of the disease.

The death toll for the period from 26 to 31 December stood at 59 new cases including five deaths, concerning a 26-year-old man residing in Mahmal (Khenchla province), admitted to hospital for respiratory distress, a 55-year-old man residing in Boufarik (Blida), hospitalized for severe respiratory distress, and who had been suffering from heart disorder and treated for type 2 diabetes, underlined the ministry's report.
