Research Alert: Multiresistant bacteria in Lake
Multi Resistant gut bacteria have been discovered in Lake in Hemfjärden.

- We encountered nothing like this in other lakes, as in Karlskoga area or parcel area. But in Hemfjärden were those, says Jana Jass, who now leads research on the multi-resistant bacteria.
Samples were taken also in the Middle Bay and Big Hjälmaren, but there is no multi-drug resistant intestinal bacteria were found.
- In Svartån at Karlslund, near Technical mill, we found some. But not to the same extent as in Hemfjärden says Jana Jass.
Two different bacteria
It's about the two intestinal bacteria is e.coli (Escherichia coli) and enterococci, both common without being resistant.
