[h=1]Influenza Report[/h] The report was published on February 4, 2016 and reported flu-state by week 4 in 2016.

[h=2]Summary Week 4[/h] All monitoring systems show a continued increase in flu activity. The number of laboratory-confirmed cases / week has increased during the past two weeks, from 259 cases Week 2-718 cases Week 4. The majority of cases are influenza A, and it is subtype influenza A (H1N1) pdm09 that dominate the spread. During week 4 were only 39 cases influenza B. The number of patients with influenza-intensive been treated has increased in recent weeks and so far in the season has a total of 87 patients reported. Patients with suspected or confirmed influenza who were not deemed to be sufficiently protected against severe disease by vaccination should be offered antiviral treatment if they belong to a risk group or is seriously ill (eg impact on breathing or circulation).
Influenza activity is expected to continue to increase until peaking sometime in February. In the rest of Scandinavia and Europe, the number of laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza.

More than 100 patients in intensive care with swine flu

This year's seasonal influenza continues to increase, but not in the same rapid rate as the weeks before, showing the public health authority report for week 5. But the number of serious cases requiring intensive care remains higher than before, and up to a total of 105 patients ? almost on the same level as during the pandemic 2009.

Worst hit by the flu so far in relation to the population is the country's Central and southern parts, writes public health authority in its latest report on how the epidemic is evolving. It is the so-called swine flu A (H1N1) that is rampant in this year's flu season ? the same as during the pandemic in 2009. The count now that seasonal flu, but can be more serious for adults of working age than the usual flu, which hit harder against the elderly.

[h=2]Summary Week 6[/h] Influenza activity in Sweden remains at medium-high level and we are near the peak of seasonal flu epidemic. In week 6, the number of laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza to increase but for the second week in a row the rate of increase. Total reported 964 cases, including 865 cases of influenza A and 99 cases influenza B. Unlike previous weeks, the number of cases of influenza A unchanged while the number of cases of influenza B doubled. Signals from the rest of Europe show an increased activity of influenza B. A late wave of influenza B may be to wait just like last season. The number of patients with influenza-intensive cared continue to increase and so far in the season has a total of 122 patients reported.
In this week's special section presents the excellent results from the first mailing of the current influenza strains validated with three commercial tests used in the microbiological laboratories in Sweden.
Patients with suspected or confirmed influenza who were not deemed to be sufficiently protected against severe disease by vaccination should be offered antiviral treatment if they belong to a risk group or are severely ill (such as having impact on breathing or circulation).

More than usual care for intensive care for swine flu

The number of cases of influenza patients who received intensive care is almost up there on the same level as during the pandemic 2009. Over 120 people have so far been admitted to intensive care. 'It is important that physicians find the difficult cases early,' said statsepidemiologen Anders Tegnell said. How many died remains unclear.

What sets this year's influenza from previous years is that it is about the so-called swine flu A (H1N1), the same as during the pandemic 2009. Effects of mass vaccination is now over, and the swine flu is considered now as an ordinary seasonal flu. Most people get a mild disease, like a cold, but flu can affect otherwise healthy middle-aged people harder than the usual seasonal flu ? which is the most dangerous for the elderly. What stands out from previous years is that we get reports from health care that more intensivv?rdas for swine flu, says Anders Tegnell. In the latest report from the health authority reported 122 cases, during the pandemic it was 138.Nu this year's swine flu epidemic appears to have peaked, the number of reported cases is on the way down in the latest report. At the same time, the data on deaths among middle-aged people just in the Group of people who are otherwise healthy. According to Anders Tegnell is about so few cases that it is difficult to draw any conclusions from it. 'it is only in retrospect that you can examine how many people died of the flu. The vast majority die some time afterwards in various types of complications, and of this group are there so few cases that it is difficult to know what is the chance, 'he said.

[h=1]Influenza Report[/h] This report was published February 25, 2016 and reported influenza situation week 7, in 2016.

[h=2]Summary Week 7[/h] Influenza activity in Sweden remains at medium-high level, but the number of influenza cases decreased during week 7 and the top of the season's epidemic has been reached.During week 7 reported 698 cases of influenza A and 104 cases of influenza B. It is mainly influenza A that decreases. The number of cases of influenza B in week 7 is largely unchanged from the week 6. The percentage of positive samples for influenza decreases throughout the country. Winter holidays around Sweden could mean a regional break in the spread of the flu. More cases of influenza B can come in the latter part of the epidemic as the previous season. In the rest of Europe decreased both the number of laboratory-confirmed cases and the percentage of positive samples in the sentinel surveillance during weeks 6.
In this week's special episode, we write more about the age distribution of laboratory-confirmed cases and patients with influenza-intensive cared.
We want to continue highlighting the importance of healthcare to be generous with antiviral treatment for patients with suspected or confirmed influenza if they belong to a risk group or are severely ill (such as having impact on breathing or circulation).

However, the number of cases of influenza B by 59% after having bottomed out a couple of weeks.Influenza B also seen increase in the rest of Scandinavia and Europe. Winter holidays around Sweden could mean a regional break in the spread of the flu.

[h=1]Influenza Report[/h] This report was published March 10, 2016 and reported influenza situation in week 9, in 2016.

[h=2]Summary Week 9[/h] In week 9, the influenza epidemic continued to decline in Sweden. Total reported 575 cases, including 343 cases of influenza A and 232 cases of influenza B. Influenza B continues to increase, and 40 percent of the positive samples in week 9 were influenza B. The same trend is also seen in the rest of Scandinavia and Europe where a shift occurs from predominance of influenza A (H1N1) pdm09 to influenza B / Victoria. In this week's special section you can read more about other causes of respiratory infections.
In fyrvalenta vaccine given to children include two influenza A strains (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B line types (B / Victoria and B / Yamagata), but in the trivalent vaccine for adults are not influenza B / Victoria. Since the spread of influenza B / Victoria is now increasing, we want to highlight the importance of health care to continue to be generous with antiviral treatment for people with suspected influenza who are severely ill or belong to a risk group for severe influenza illness.
