Unnecessary to v?ndsteka [fry over well-done] eggs against bird flu

Fear of bird flu means that 100,000 Swedes have to put up with well-done eggs.

Despite the fact that sick birds hardly lay any eggs, the catering company Sodexho for precautionary reasons has introduced regulations that eggs will not be served that have been cooked [fried] only on one side.

Swedish health authorities go on to say that this is not necessary since sick chickens don't lay eggs.

The company has also removed from their menus wild birds and ducks/geese that have not been raised indoors.

Sodexho provides 100,000 meals a day to various businesses, schools, conference centers and hospitals.

On?digt att v?ndsteka ?gg mot f?gelinfluensa
2006-05-02

- Sjuka h?nor v?rper inga ?gg. De d?r oftast inom loppet av n?gra timmar, s?ger chefsepidemiolog Annika Linde p? Smittskyddsinstitutet.
