57 year old woman in Queensland being tested for Ebola after returning from Sierra Leone. Blood has been taken and is been taken to Brisbane for analysis. Results expected late tonight.

A 57-year-old Cairns woman is being tested for Ebola after returning from working Sierra Leone.
The nurse - a volunteer with the Red Cross - had returned from a month-long trip to Sierra Leone where she had been working caring for people with Ebola.
The woman returned to Australia on the weekend and to Cairns on Tuesday. She had been restricted to her home to look at the progress of her symptoms and today contacted health authorities saying she had a fever.

The nurse - a volunteer with the Red Cross - had returned from a month-long trip to Sierra Leone where she had been working caring for people with Ebola.

A 57-year-old woman in Cairns hospital is under observation over fears that she might have the deadly ebola virus.
The women recently spent one month in Sierra Leone, working in a hospital over there as a volunteer for the Red Cross.
Queensland chief health officer Dr Jeanette Young said she returned to Australia on the weekend and remained in home isolation under the government?s ebola protocol.
This morning she developed a low-grade fever and was called in for testing.
The health boss said the nurse did not have any systems or fever when she came home
?She?s done everything appropriately,? Dr Young said. ?She has not been out in the community in Cairns.?
Results are expected late tonight, since the blood has to be flown down from Cairns to Brisbane for testing
Dr Young said there was ?no concern for any passenger on any plane she?s been on?.
?It?s very difficult to transmit. It?s not like flu or a cold. Risk of infecting someone else is very very low.?
