If "Increased Unrest in the World due to Hard Economic Times" can be seen as a potential "Public Health Threat" perhaps we can offer some suggestions that may help people deal with it? Healthcare professionals should be consulted regarding medical or health related problems. I am not a healthcare professional and am not qualified to provide healthcare related advise or instruction. Here are some links that may provide some helpful information.
In the past during economic hard times some governments actively encouraged people to grow vegetable gardens to help keep people busy with something other than civil unrest with the side benefit of helping to keep them and their families fed. I read somewhere that During WWII Victory gardens supplied 42% of the food consumed by the civilian population in the US.

Healthcare professionals and educators may want to review how to disseminate home care information on how to deal with diseases due to inadequate or improper diet, waterborne illness or sanitary conditions. These may occur due to poverty or inability to maintain infrastructure such as waste collection and disposal or water treatment facilities. Rickets, pellagra, scurvy are probably not things most first world parents can readily recognize or deal with especially with limited resources.

Maybe help disseminate information on home water storage and treatment during situations where the quality of public water may have been compromised due to natural or manmade problems.
