Four die of mystery disease in West Darfur

An unknown disease resulted in the death of four people on Monday, and infected three on Tuesday in the area of Foro Baranga, West Darfur.

?The symptoms are vomiting, fever, and bleeding from the mouth?, a listener told Radio Dabanga from Foro Baranga. ?After the appearance of the symptoms, the patients die about three hours later.?

He said that four people died on Monday. ?Three others were affected. They are now in a hospital in Foro Baranga in serious condition. The hospital, however, is short of medical staff, and medicines.?

Sounds like a possible poisoning.

The time period from onset to death, as well as the fact that all four deaths are on the same day, tends to suggest against a hemorrhagic fever, despite the symptoms.
