Citizens of El Geneina complained about lack of vaccines to combat the outbreak of meningitis, which has led to increased mortality, especially in the regions Tendalti, Rijul Kubra, Geelow, and Banjadid. Dr. Yusef Abdul Baki, Director of Epidemiology of the state Ministry of Health, said a vaccination a campaign was undertaken in all parts of Azarni, Habila, Sirba, and Ayshbar in addition to the Tendalti Locality. Dr. Yusef said that the vaccination campaign reached more than a thousand children in Tendalti, but stressed the need for the state to receive more help from the Federal Ministry of Health to combat the spread of meningitis.
