</TD></TR><TR><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD class=text>Khartoum State Legislative Council Deputy Speaker, Abdallah Juma'a Tiya stated the committee assigned the study of the various negative effects of bird flu in Khartoum State listened in its meeting yesterday to a report by the Ministry of Animal resources and will listen today to another one by the Sate Ministry of Health in respect of the human side of the effects and the precautionary measures taken by the Ministry to stop the disease spreading among humans.

In addition to that, meetings were held with responsible figures in the Ministry of Social Welfare about the contributions made to compensate for the losses suffered by those affected. This is done taking into account that a number of those affected are recent graduates who entered into obligations with some banks. Tiya pointed out to a report by the poultry Products Chamber in which he revealed about containing the disease after the extermination processes, which covered all farms in the region in addition to enlightening farm workers about the risks of this disease.

Tiya revealed about in-field visits made by the committee to the affected farms to inspect the procedures taken and how far they were executed.
