Stockpiling Awareness

Where is the "Mommy...I'm hungry because we only stockpiled 1 weeks worth of food and water" poster!

Where is the "How much to stockpile" sentence in this Ohio coloring activity?

Oh...wait...the 'how much' is in this document(pdf):
"You can prepare now by creating a stockpile of emergency supplies. Experts
recommend you have at least a one-week supply of food, water and goods purchased over time to limit
the financial impact and prevent store shortages."

Re: Stockpiling Awareness

They recommend one week?? The powers that be are creating a false sense of security, when they portray this as a non-event.

Re: Stockpiling Awareness

I have to agree with MHSC about providing a false sense of security. I don't have the figures for WHO confirmed cases that recovered, but based on the cases that died, there was an average of 10 days between onset and death. Seven days of food storage will simply not be enough if a pandemic influenza infects a member of your household and you are trying to self quarantine.

Re: Stockpiling Awareness

We have public health officials from this state who participate here. It would be a suggestion to re-design this pamphlet to add more time to the stockpiling recommendation.
