The number of deaths in the state from the H1N1 virus jumped to 29 with seven new deaths reported since last Thursday, and now the seasonal flu is starting to show up in the state as well.

In the past week, new H1N1 deaths were reported in Allen, Boyle, Graves, Jefferson, Montgomery, Robertson and Woodford counties.

The Kentucky Department for Public Health began giving updates on H1N1 deaths on Thursdays only on its website beginning last week.

Seasonal flu cases are now starting to show up as well, with four new cases reported in Calloway, Fayette, Franklin and Woodford counties.

I believe the reporter has misinterpreted the Kentucky ILI data. The 4 seasonal flu reports are not new but a total since August 1st (2 in August, 2 in October). However no seasonal flu positives have been reported so far in November in the Kentucky reports - it's all been pandemic H1N1.

Although the Kentucky report didn't break it down any further it is likely that the 4 seasonal positives (out of 1506) are influenza B
