Editor, Senior Moderator
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched an investigation into the death of a nine year old from H1N1, Chief Medical (CMO), Doctor Merlene Fredericks has disclosed.
The death was first reported last night during the HTS Evening News.
Fredericks told HTS Television this evening that the MOH wants to ensure that the child in particular did not have any underlying medical condition.
She recalled that the Island had a huge H1N1 swine flu outbreak in 2009, when schools had to be closed.
However the CMO said there were no deaths then.
Fredericks has urged members of the public, especially those most at risk, to get vaccinated.
