The April 3 Workshop is Free and Open to the Community
Event Details: 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., April 03, Doisy College of Health Sciences Building
ST. LOUIS - How prepared would St. Louis be if pandemic flu struck? In an effort to increase local pandemic preparedness, Saint Louis University's Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness, in conjunction with Roche Laboratories, is hosting a "Partners in Pandemic Planning" workshop on Thursday, April 3.
All SLU faculty, students and alumni are invited to attend this free workshop, which will be held in the Doisy College of Allied Health Sciences building. The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, and will end at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
The workshop will provide participants the opportunity to work with pandemic planners from across the region and network with other local organizations. Participants will learn from best practices in pandemic planning, as well as explore their organization's role during a crisis.
"The workshop is a unique opportunity to hear public health and health preparedness industry experts speak on planning, business continuity, workplace protections, personal/family issues and our role in responding to any future pandemic flu event," said Michael Thomas, associate director of the Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness at Saint Louis University.
"The entire SLU community is encouraged to attend this free event, especially members of the SLU Preparedness Task Force and faculty and staff of SLU Hospital, Cardinal Glennon and SLUCare."
The event is free, but space is limited. Those interested in attending the workshop should register online.
Saint Louis University School of Public Health is one of only 39 fully accredited schools of public health in the United States and the nation's only School of Public Health sponsored by a Jesuit university.
