An outbreak of a serious and highly contagious bird disease has been identified in two specific chicken flocks in Half Tree Hollow and New Ground. ANRD Veterinary Service is working with a major UK laboratory to diagnose the disease.

An outbreak of a serious and highly contagious bird disease has been identified in two specific chicken flocks in Half Tree Hollow and New Ground. ANRD Veterinary Service is working with a major UK laboratory to diagnose the disease.
In the meantime, ANRD has imposed a Quarantine Order which restricts movements in and out of the affected properties. This is designed to confine the disease and minimise the risk of its transfer. The Quarantine Order, made under the Animals (Diseases) Regulations, is initially set for 4 weeks from today. Notices have been posted at the two premises and disinfectant points established...
