MEXICO CITY, Feb. 4. - The deaths from influenza A H1N1 passed from 29 to 54 in the last seven days, while in the same period were little more than a thousand infections of this subtype, reported the Ministry of Health ( SSA).

In this winter season the number of deaths from influenza rose to 58, of which 54 were from the virus A H1N1, that is, deaths almost doubled in just one week.

On Friday January 27 confirmed cases totaled 456 thousand and for the February 2 the figure rose to two thousand 544 infections, so it remains dominant in the country over the other two subtypes of influenza.

In total, the federal agency said, there are two thousand recorded 815 cases of influenza A H1N1, A H3N2 and influenza B, but only 271 are for the last two subtypes.

Because this week lowered the temperature in the country, the SSA recommended that people go to get vaccinated to protect against three types of influenza viruses.

The office reported so far in 2012 there have been more than two million visits for acute respiratory infections and 12 000 313 cases of pneumonia and bronchopneumonia.

The SSA noted that in the third week of 2012 per thousand queries monitors health units 15 were influenza-like respiratory disease this virus or severe acute respiratory infection.

Endorse campaign in Oaxaca

The state Congress approved in ordinary session as "urgent and obvious resolution", a point agreed to urge the health secretary, Germain Tenorio Vasconcelos, to be implemented throughout the organization of information campaigns and prevention of human influenza virus A H1N1, similar to those performed in the city of Oaxaca.

The initiative was presented by Deputy Aldeco Marlene Reyes Retana, the PAN, who emphasized the need to increase the health campaigns to prevent further generating more cases of H1N1 influenza, given the rise of the disease in much of the country.

Meanwhile, in Tamaulipas, Michoacan, Baja California Sur, Hidalgo and Nuevo Leon have increased health measures among the population.
